An exciting opportunity has arisen within ALDI’s Health and Safety Team for a Health and Safety Specialist. The successful candidate will support the implementation of ALDI's health and safety strategy across our Stores and Regional Distribution Centres (RDCs). This role is predominantly field based, requiring frequent travel to various business sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the Regional Health & Safety Manager, act as a 'competent person', ensuring compliance with health & safety, fire safety, food safety, and trading law.
  • Engage with various teams to promote a positive safety culture and ensure all safety requirements are met.
  • Conduct risk assessments, audits, and inspections to keep our workplaces safe and compliant
  • Investigate reportable work-related incidents and advise on accident prevention measures.
  • Support working groups in the development of risk assessments, policies and procedures, monitoring and supervision and training initiatives.

Your New Role

  • Reporting to the Regional Health and Safety Manager, providing operational support and direction on compliance with health and safety, fire safety, food safety, and trading law.
  • Acting as a competent person within your area of responsibility regarding health and safety regulations.
  • Engaging with regional teams including Store Operations, Warehouse Operations, Transport, and Real Estate to ensure compliance with health & safety requirements.
  • Conducting risk assessments, audits, and inspections across stores and RDCs.
  • Investigating reportable work-related incidents and advising on accident prevention measures.
  • Supporting H&S department working groups in the development of risk assessments, policies and procedures, monitoring and supervision and training initiatives.

About You

  • You must hold a NEBOSH Certificate
  • In-depth knowledge of national legislation and industry standards.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to present to groups.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Ideally you will hold a Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health & Safety or related field, or working towards, IOSH Membership, CIEH Membership, Fire safety qualification , Lead auditor qualification

  • Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm, with the opportunity of 1 day a week remote working
