Alpha Hospital Group is a private HIS registered day-case hospital specialising in plastic and reconstructive surgery. We are seeking a highly motivated and qualified Healthcare Support Worker to support our Clinic and Theatre Teams.

CLINICAL

  • Setting up treatment rooms prior to the commencement of sessions and maintaining good housekeeping throughout. This includes ensuring each room is well stocked with appropriate clean linen, disposables, and equipment.
  • Participate as part of the multi-disciplinary team providing assistance to registered staff, sharing in the delivery of a high standard of care for patients.
  • Actively participates and communicates as an effective and competent member of the multi-disciplinary team.
  • Be aware of and assist with the prevention of cross infection, ensuring a clean and safe environment at all times as per hospital policy.
  • Responsible for the general tidiness / cleanliness and disposal of refuse and used linen.
  • Demonstrates adherence to hospital policies and procedures.
  • Package and label instruments to be sent for cleaning.
  • Recieves parcels, unpacks and stores correctly.
  • Receive, label and transfer specimens as requested.
  • Participate in the routine checks of Electro/surgical equipment that are undertaken, ensuring personal proficiency in their use and compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Undertaking clerical/administration tasks associated with the running of the sessions.
  • Respects the privacy and dignity of patients at all times.
  • Chaperone medical staff as required.
  • Be aware of patients’ differing cultures and their associated needs as well as spiritual needs.
  • Understanding of dietary requirements and allergies

The Ideal Candidate

  • Excellent customer care skills
  • Knowledge of Health and safety and COSSH
  • Minimum of 2 years experience of working in a similar service environment
  • Relevant training, qualifications and experience to deliver services in line with legislative and statutory requirements (where relevant) and industry best practice
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 applications and basic computer skills

Qualifications

SVQ Level 5 or equivalent

Please note - this a fixed term contract with the possibility of becoming permanent position

Flexibility in regards to working hours is essential.
