We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Help-desk Administrator to join a reputable public service on a temporary basis for 3-4 months. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in coordinating the delivery of estates maintenance activities, ensuring that our portfolio of properties is fit for purpose and operates efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordination: Oversee the delivery of estates maintenance activities to ensure properties are maintained effectively.
  • Work with contractors and suppliers to ensure timely completion of work within agreed parameters.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to place orders for both planned and reactive maintenance.
  • Cross-check and monitor work performed, ensuring all relevant paperwork is accurately captured and recorded.
  • Database Maintenance: Maintain an accurate and up-to-date estates database.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with internal and external stakeholders to support the delivery of maintenance services.
  • Compliance Guidance: Provide guidance and challenge non-compliant work requests where applicable.
  • Team Management: Manage and direct two handy persons, providing guidance on the work to be undertaken.

Essential Criteria:

  • Previous experience in an administrative capacity is desirable
  • Understanding of health and safety procedures and policies.
  • Previous experience in a similar estates role, ideally within a large multi-site organisation.
  • Context Understanding: Awareness of the context for Fire and Rescue services both nationally and locally.
  • Collaboration Skills: Ability to work collaboratively across various functions and lead virtual teams.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills for effective communication.
  • Competent in ICT with relevant skills for the work area.
  • Strong organizational and planning abilities.
