Drivers Direct Recruitment are looking to recruit a Class 1 Driver on behalf of our client to join their team in the County Durham area.

Hours of work:

  • Days 0400 - 0800 starts.
  • Nights 1600 - 1900 starts.
  • Tramping

Salary:

  • £14.00 to £18.00 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay)
  • Night out allowance - £22 - £27.50

The Role:

  • Local and long distance delivery of goods on HGV 1 vehicles.
  • Day's, Nights and tramping available.
  • Delivering to businesses, residential addresses, depots & building sites.
  • Goods unloaded by pump truck, cages or FLT, some handball may be required.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Carrying out relevant daily vehicle safety checks and reporting as per Operational Procedures.
  • Ensure all delivery and collections are carried out in accordance with company procedures.
  • To deliver & collect to customers in a safe and professional manner.
  • To complete all work related paperwork in full and hand in at the end of the shift.

Essential Skills:

  • Must hold a valid HGV 1 / Cat C+E licence for a minimum of 6 months.
  • Must have at least 60 days’ worth of driving showing on digital tacho card.
  • Must hold a valid driver qualification (CPC) card.
  • Must hold a valid Digital tacho card.
  • No more than 6 minor penalty points due to insurance stipulations.
  • No DR’s, IN’s or DD’s offence codes due to insurance stipulations.
