The Recruitment Crowd are currently recruiting on behalf of our well known and industry-leading client based in the Castleford area. We are looking for experienced HGV Class 1 Drivers (CAT C+E) to join the team on nights.

Hours: Monday to Friday with occasional weekend availability, start times between 5pm and 8pm.

Pay Rate: £16.50 per hour PAYE.

Location: Castleford, WF10.

Job Type: Ongoing with an opportunity for permanent for the right candidate.

The role:

  • Drive and operate Class 1 double-decker vehicles, 10 hour average shift length.
  • Nightly pick-ups and deliveries to either Preston or Swadlincote.
  • Efficiently manage loads with tip-only or reload operations.
  • Adhere to safety regulations and company policies.
  • Complete required documentation accurately.

Requirements:

  • Full UK driving licence with Class 1 entitlement (category C+E).
  • Have at least 2 years of proven experience driving the relevant vehicle.
  • Valid and in date DCPC and Digital Tachograph card.
  • No more than 6 points on licence (minor offences only).
  • Full understanding of WTD legislation.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • A safety-first mindset.
  • A positive, can-do attitude and be prepared to complete a small induction on site.
  • Be accustomed to working the night shift.
