HGV Driver Class 2

An experienced HGV Driver with preferably 2 years of experience is needed to join the team at this leading volumetric ready mix concrete company based in Devon on a full-time basis. 

They are the only volumetric ready-mix concrete company in Devon. They deliver and mix concrete or screed to the precise specifications at the location using their brand-new equipment and expert workers, and you only pay for the material you use.

They are now looking to recruit an HGV Driver Class 2 to join their Drivers team for an immediate start. Delivering concrete up to 25 miles from our head office at EX37 9QR.

About the Role

All candidates should possess the following, HGV Class 2 Licence, Driver CPC Card, and Digital Tacho Card.

Selected candidates will be required to work Monday-Friday with opportunities to work additional hours.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely operate and navigate heavy goods vehicles in compliance with traffic laws and regulations
• Conduct regular pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure functionality, safety, and compliance with regulations. This includes checking brakes, tires, fuel, and other essential functions
• Assist in loading and unloading cargo, ensuring the securement of loads, and verifying the quantity and condition of the cargo being transported
• Accurately complete the necessary paperwork and electronic logs related to each trip, including hours of service records, delivery notes, fuel consumption records, and cargo documentation
• Use GPS systems and knowledge of the roadways to determine the most efficient and safe routes for delivery
• Maintain regular communication with dispatchers and fleet managers, providing updates on ETA, reporting any delays or issues encountered on the route, and receiving instructions as necessary
• Adhere to all company guidelines, as well as local, state, and national regulations regarding HGV operation, including weight limits, hazardous material transportation, and other specific cargo-related rules

Required Experience:

• Driving a Goods Vehicle: 2 years (preferred)
• Experience in Telehandler
• Up-to-date CPC Qualifications
• Driving License (CPC preferred)
