(HGV Technician) - Position Overview

Our client operates in the commercial vehicle and trailer market within the UK and mainland Europe offering rental solutions, sales and maintenance facilities including Tachograph Calibration and 2 Lane Authorised Testing Facility.

They are now looking to add an HGV Technician into their fantastic team.

(HGV Technician) - Position Requirements

• Ideally you will hold NVQ/City and Guilds Level 3 (or equivalent) in commercial vehicle repair, the company would be willing to upskill the right candidate to this level.
• Knowledge of HGV, LGV and Trailer systems and experience working within the industry would be Ideal, but candidates with transferrable skills will be considered.
• A Valid Tachograph calibration certification would also be beneficial; however, training would be available to attain this accreditation.
• A Class 1 Driving licence would be beneficial, along with IRTE technician accreditation, however, relevant training and accreditation will be available to attain these licences.
• What will your role as an HGV Technician look like?
• Routine inspection and maintenance
• MOT preparation to DVSA standards
• Diagnostic investigation and repair
• Breakdown attendance, within working hours, 24/7 Customer Support rota outside working hours (additional payment)
• You will be offered the opportunity to cover some shifts on opposite shift i.e. holidays etc - this would be at the overtime rate in place.

(HGV Technician) - Position Remuneration

• £18 - £20 per hour depending on skill and experience Pro-rata earnings between £38k - £42k + Overtime (Time and a half pay)
• Extra payment for inclusion in the on-call rota is provided.
• 4 on, 4 off shift basis - Minimum of 46 Hours a week
• 28 days holiday per annum, which equates to 19.5 shifts - Will increase to 22.5 shifts giving three extra days holiday.
