Van/HGV Technician needed

£45,000 - £50,000 per annum

Our client, a commercial vehicle dealership providing servicing, inspections, repairs, diagnostics, is seeking for a Van/ HGV Technician to join their team.

The ideal candidate will be an individual with the right expertise to take on a vital role in maintaining and servicing light goods vehicles and heavy goods vehicles.

Role: Van /HGV Mechanic

Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 per annum

Hours: Day shift; Monday to Friday, every other Saturday @ overtime rate

Location: Stockton on Tees

Key responsibilities:

  • Perform regular maintenance and repairs on a wide range of LCVs /HGVs.
  • Diagnose mechanical issues and resolve them efficiently.
  • Conduct inspections and safety checks to ensure vehicles meet all regulatory standards.
  • Replace or repair faulty components such as engines, brakes, and transmissions.
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed and parts used.
  • Work effectively both independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines.

Requirements:

  • Fully qualified LCV /HGV Mechanic (City & Guilds, NVQ or equivalent).
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of HGV mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Ability to work with diagnostic equipment and specialized tools.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to work.
  • A full, clean driving license is preferred.
  • Experience with a wide range of vehicle makes and models.
  • Experience in diagnostic systems and electronic repairs.
