As a HGV 1 Store Delivery Driver, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient transport of goods from our distribution centre to various stores. You will be responsible for driving a Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV1) while adhering to all traffic and safety regulations. Your primary goal will be to deliver goods in a timely and secure manner, maintaining the integrity of the products and providing excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate a HGV1 vehicle to transport goods to designated store locations.
  • Load and unload goods, ensuring that they are properly secured and organized within the vehicle.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
  • Plan delivery routes, taking into consideration traffic conditions and delivery schedules.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date delivery and mileage records.
  • Comply with all relevant traffic and safety regulations, including hours of service and weight limits.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch and store personnel to coordinate delivery schedules and address any issues.
  • Provide excellent customer service by representing the company in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Use Telemetric and specific routes plans.
  • Handle goods with care to prevent damage during transit.
  • Report any vehicle malfunctions or safety concerns to the maintenance department.

Qualifications:

  • HGV Class 1 Licence (min 2 years experience)
  • CPC
  • Digi Card
  • No more than 6 points.
  • Ability to read maps
  • Physical fitness
  • Reliability and punctuality
  • Client Led induction and driving assessment
