Higher Level Teaching Assistant | Coventry, CV1 | £100 - £125 per day | September 2024 start

LTF Recruitment is seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant or qualified HLTA to join the excellent support staff team at our esteemed partner school in central Coventry. As an HLTA, you will support teachers by taking responsibility for designated learning activities under an agreed system of supervision. You will monitor pupils, assess, record, and report on their achievement, progress, and development.

There will also be a responsibility to cover classes during planning, preparation, and assessment (PPA) time. The role is situated in a Reception class, working alongside two teachers, an EYFS consultant, and another HLTA. It is offered on a long-term basis with the potential to become permanent for the successful candidate.

As part of this role, you will be expected to:

  • Work 1:1 with children as well as delivering group support, across the Reception.
  • Help to engage SEN pupils and encouraging interaction.
  • Monitor and assess pupil progress, providing constructive feedback to both students and teachers to aid their ongoing development.
  • Support the Class teacher with delivery of lessons, and leading class sessions during PPA time.
  • Prepare and deliver planned learning activities to smaller groups and whole classes.

The ideal candidate for this role will:

  • Be HLTA qualified, desirable but not essential.
  • Have 12 months experience in an educational setting.
  • Have experience leading 1:1 or group interventions (desirable).
  • Knowledge and understanding of the EYFS Curriculum.
  • Demonstrate the ability to quickly establish relationships with students and staff.
