Location: East Grinstead, West Sussex

Salary: £110 - £130.00 per day

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

We are a distinguished secondary school in East Grinstead, committed to fostering academic excellence and a love for learning among our students. We are currently seeking a dedicated and literate HLTA / Library Assistant to join our team, focusing on supporting English and reading initiatives. This role is in partnership with Zen Educate, an innovative education staffing agency dedicated to enhancing the quality of education in schools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the library, promoting a positive reading culture and supporting students in their literacy development.
  • Work with the English department to provide targeted support to students in reading and English.
  • Help plan and deliver engaging literacy activities and interventions.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, helping them improve their reading and comprehension skills.
  • Maintain and organize the library resources, ensuring a welcoming and resourceful environment.
  • Support classroom teachers in delivering high-quality English lessons.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with secondary school students is desirable.
  • Strong literacy skills and a passion for reading and English.
  • Minimum of grade C or above in GCSE Maths and English.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping students succeed.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other staff members.
