These are a few primary duties for this position:

  • Design and deliver captivating history lessons that engage students and foster a deep understanding of historical events and concepts.
  • Evaluate and track student progress, providing constructive feedback and support to help them achieve their academic goals
  • Create a positive and encouraging classroom environment, inspiring students to think critically and explore the past
  • Contribute to the planning and development of a dynamic history curriculum that meets the needs of all learners
  • Lead and participate in history-related extracurricular activities, clubs, and school events

In order to obtain clearance to teach History, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Eligibility to work in the UK
  • An Enhanced DBS on the update service
  • Must Provide 2 proven professional references
  • PGCE with the Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Essential for this role
  • Proven success in teaching history to secondary school students or equivalent age groups
  • A genuine passion for history and a commitment to making the past relevant and exciting for students
  • Ability to create engaging, creative, and effective teaching strategies
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to education
