Job Title: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

Location: Primary School in Dagenham, London

Position: Full-Time

Start Date: September 2024

Salary: Competitive, based on experience

About the Role: We are currently seeking a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a vibrant primary school in Dagenham, London. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with relevant experience and a passion for supporting children's learning and development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the classroom teacher in planning and delivering engaging lessons.
  • Provide support to students in small groups or on a 1:1 basis.
  • Cover classes in the teacher's absence and deliver pre-prepared lessons.
  • Support children with varying abilities, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to the teaching staff.
  • Help create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.

Requirements:

  • Relevant experience working in a primary school setting is essential.
  • HLTA qualification is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Strong understanding of the primary school curriculum.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other professionals.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one).
