Pertemps are supporting a local client to appoint an experienced Homelessness & Housing Solutions Officer to join their Housing, Communities, Environment & Planning Directorate. In this pivotal role, you will deliver a specialised homelessness and housing solutions service focused on the prevention and relief of homelessness. Working within a supportive team, you will be responsible for handling complex cases and making legally sound decisions based on current legislation, including the Housing Act and Homelessness Reduction Act.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert advice and solutions on housing options, ensuring a customer-centred approach with sensitivity to equality and diversity.
- Manage a caseload of homelessness applications, applying up-to-date case law to make robust, legally compliant decisions.
- Coordinate temporary accommodation placements in line with legislation and best practices.
- Cultivate relationships with private sector landlords to expand housing options and prevent homelessness.
- Prepare accurate case files and reports, ensuring transparency, quality, and adherence to financial regulations.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners, including Council departments and local agencies, to support clients effectively.

Essential Requirements:
- Experience in homelessness or housing options, with in-depth knowledge of housing legislation and case management.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to work in a high-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work constructively in a team setting.

This role is hybrid based and would require the candidate to work from the office one day per week.
