We are working with a local authority who are looking for a Housing Compliance Manager to deliver their compliance and business report requirements.

This role will encompass a broad range of activities, from collaboration with their internal delivery teams undertaking the testing and inspections to owning the regulatory reporting for the relevant compliance measures.

Location: Southwest based Local Authority

Set-up: Hybrid, 1-2 days on-site preferable

Rate: £350 per day via umbrella, inside IR35

Duration: Initial 5-month contract

Hours: Full-time position

Purpose of the job

  • Lead a team responsible for sponsoring, monitoring, and reporting the performance metrics to internal and external stakeholders, including the Social Housing Regulator.
  • The reporting activities will include generating the supporting narrative relating to the ‘Big Six’ housing compliance areas including electrical, water, gas, fire, asbestos, and lifts. Plus, answering questions from stakeholders and undertaking audits.

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead the generation of the monthly and annual compliance performance reports, plus supporting narrative and audit trail
  • Support the presentation of the monthly and annual compliance performance report to Councillor, Executive members, and Regulator
  • Project manage the delivery and assurance of the annual compliance performance reports
  • Provide sponsorship for the compliance related policies and associated Standard Operating Procedures. You will commission ‘Subject Matter Experts’ to assure these documents and arrange for audits to ensure they are being followed
  • Manage and lead a team of technical staff in a way that maximises their productivity and growth

Requirements:

  • Significant experience in monthly or annual corporate performance reporting
  • A capability to use data analytics to quantify, validate and audit performance reports
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant construction or infrastructure related discipline or demonstrable equivalent experience
  • Local Government experience required for initial shortlisting, then thereafter at the client’s discretion
