£300 - £325 per day Umbrella

We are currently on the lookout for a Housing Compliance Property Manager to join our team in Rotherham.

The Role:

  • The role is based within the Housing Property Service which is responsible for the delivery of repairs, maintenance, investment and compliance functions within the Council's housing asset portfolio.
  • The key aim of the role is to manage housing property compliance.
  • The postholder will manage a team of compliance officers and surveyors ensuring we maintain compliance in statutory landlord compliance areas such as gas safety, electrical safety, water safety, asbestos, fire safety, damp and mould and lift maintenance.
  • The team will also monitor compliance in other areas of housing property services including the social housing regulatory standards and the housing asset portfolio.

The Candidate:

  • A recognised relevant professional qualification such as CIOB, NEBOSH, Institute of Asset Management, IOSH etc. and evidence of ongoing CPD in Health & Safety or an appropriate level of experience.
  • Extensive experience and a working knowledge of professional regulations relating to one or more of the following areas; Asbestos, Fire Risk, Legionella, Gas and Electricity Safety, Lifts, NEBOSH, CDM and EPA.
  • Experience of managing staff including performance management, training and development, risk management, business continuity and succession planning.
  • Experience of interpreting and implementing legislation in a working environment, through the development of strategies, policies and procedures.
  • Experience of the development and implementation of compliance monitoring processes in line with working practices.
  • Ability to write well-structured communication including letters, briefing papers and reports to tenants, residents, senior managers and leaders, Cabinet and other meeting forums.
  • Ability to identify and categorise issues, risks and mitigating factors, and to make decisions based upon the issue, level of risk and governance structure ensuring the safety of staff and tenants.
  • Ability to develop strong working relationships with various stakeholders, and to be able to work on projects simultaneously whilst responding quickly to changing priorities and meeting competing deadlines.
