Housing Construction Commissioning & Contracts Manager
Location: Hybrid with weekly office attendance
Reports to: Head of Commissioning & Contracts - Housing Services
Are you an experienced professional in commissioning and contracts management with a passion for housing services? We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our dynamic team, where your expertise will drive meaningful change across our extensive property portfolio. Your role will be pivotal in commissioning new contracts to support various housing projects, mainly construction-related works.
Key Responsibilities:- Contract Management: Act as a catalyst to improve contract management with existing contractors, ensuring accountability and setting benchmarks for supplier relationship management.
- New Contracts: Support housing teams to bring in additional contractor resources, using market knowledge and resident feedback to develop robust specifications and performance metrics for new contracts.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Develop and maintain productive relationships with key stakeholders, using your customer focus and emotional resilience to build empathy and trust.
- Best Practice Promotion: Promote best practice in contract management at all levels, delivering meaningful change across our housing services.
- Performance and Compliance: Lead contract performance management, ensuring high value and high-risk contracts meet agreed service improvement plans and performance metrics.
- Collaborative Working: Work with procurement, legal, and other experts to develop contract terms, conditions, and KPIs, ensuring commissions progress smoothly to contract award.
- Sustainability and Social Value: Ensure sustainability and social value are delivered in contracts, checking and challenging supplier performance in these areas.
- Experience: Demonstrable experience in commissioning, procurement, or contract management, ideally within a housing environment.
- Relationship Building: Proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders and external organizations.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce compelling reports and summaries.
- Financial Acumen: Strong financial and commercial acumen, using analysis to influence outcomes.
- Professional Qualifications: Relevant qualifications such as CIPS or WorldCC (formerly IACCM) are highly desirable.
- Technical Skills: Experience developing specifications, evaluation models, and ensuring contracts align with organizational priorities.
- Influence and Leadership: Ability to lead and influence people across various departments.
- Proactivity and Accountability: A proactive and accountable approach to delivering workstreams.
- Confidence and Independence: Confidence to work effectively with people at all levels, both independently and collaboratively.
