A leading law firm in Manchester is seeking a dedicated Housing Disrepair Solicitor/Fee Earner to join their expanding team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to manage a full caseload of Housing Disrepair claims, from inception to settlement. The ideal candidate will have strong legal expertise, excellent client care skills, and the ability to handle cases efficiently while meeting the firm’s targets and KPIs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle your own caseload of Housing Disrepair claims from start to finish, ensuring all legal procedures are followed and cases are resolved efficiently.
  • Evaluate Housing Disrepair cases, including reviewing quantum and expert reports, and preparing necessary legal documents for court hearings.
  • Conduct legal research, draft legal documents, and ensure all paperwork is completed accurately and on time.
  • Maintain communication with clients, other parties, surveyors, and the court to ensure smooth progression of cases.
  • Meet set targets and KPIs to ensure clients receive the best and most efficient service.

Requirements:

  • c. 2 - 4 years experience of handling housing disrepair cases.
  • Excellent grasp of the Pre-Action Protocol for Housing Conditions Claims and competence in issuing proceedings in housing disrepair matters.
  • Ability to take a pragmatic commercial approach to settlements and advise clients on litigation and cost risks.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills are essential.
  • Demonstrates strong organisational and prioritisation skills to manage a busy caseload.
  • Experience in Proclaim Case Management would be advantageous.
