Babergh and Mid Suffolk District Council are looking to recruit a Housing Regulatory Support Coordinator to join ourteam based in Ipswich. You will be working on a full time, permanent basis and in return, the successful candidate will earn a competitive salary of £34,834 - £41,418 per annum (pro rata for part time).

Full time, part time and job share opportunities will be considered.

What we are looking for

We are looking for a Housing Regulatory Support Coordinator to join our Housing Transformation and Regulation Team. To be successful, you will share our values, commitment, and motivation to make a difference for our residents, clients, and communities.

About the role

You will be working as part of an ambitious team who look after our IT systems, resident engagement, consumer standards compliance and Business Improvement functions. 

The team has a strong customer focus that will enable us to meet our Homes and Housing Strategy vision; for our residents to live in affordable and high quality homes, that enables them to build settled, safe and healthy lives within sustainable and thriving communities.

In this important role, you will:

  • contribute to the delivery and co-ordination of work to ensure compliance with the Regulator for Social Housing’s Consumer Standards
  • contribute to the planning, co-ordinating and delivery of any projects or other activities associated with our compliance with the social housing regulations
  • identify service improvement opportunities and implement and deliver solutions for transformation that generates real business and service benefits, driving operational and cultural change
  • undertake research and to benchmark the council's performance, across the social housing sector whilst contributing to the council's efficiency and savings target
  • capture, develop and monitor action or project plans associated with the improvement of our housing services in relation to compliance with the consumer standards.

About you

The ideal candidate will preferably have a background in social housing, be ambitious, and passionate about housing and our customers and able to work to tight deadlines. 

You will need to:

  • be organised with good project management skills
  • understand the requirements of social housing providers and the Regulator for Social Housing  
  • have effective communication skills
  • be IT proficient in Microsoft applications such as Excel, Teams, Planner, Outlook etc
  • be familiar with Power BI, the social housing regulations, Housing Ombudsman Service and Housemark (desirable). 
  • have the ability to work collaboratively with other teams to ensure we are meeting the regulatory framework set out by the Regulator for Social Housing and that we can evidence outcomes to the organisation, members, our residents, and the Regulator.
