Supported Housing Officer Vacancy

An established charitable organisation is currently looking to recruit a Supported Housing Officer based in the Bishop’s Stortford area on a temporary to permanent contract.

Location: Bishop’s Stortford
Hours: 37.5 per week
Shifts: Shifts will be a mix of 8am-1pm 10am-6pm and 12-8pm and working one weekend in 4
Pay: Up to £16 per hour umbrella
Duration: Temporary to permanent

Supported Housing Officer – The role involves:
• Manage a case load of service users aged 18-59 within a homeless hostel
• Deliver emotional and life skills based support, assisting service users with day to day tasks
• Complete support plans and risk assessments with the service users
• Enforce tenancy conditions in line with procedures including low level anti social behaviour and rent arrears
• Offer specialist knowledge and insight into rent arrears helping tenants with budgeting
• Carry out regular estate inspections
• Offer advice and assistance to tenants regarding their benefit entitlements
• Provide support and advice to tenants in relation to issues concerning their tenancies
• Manage void properties to ensure the quickest re-let times including carrying out viewings and sign-ups

Additional requirements:
• Experience of providing tenancy support to vulnerable people, particularly homeless client groups
• An enhanced DBS check from within the last 3 years or willingness to obtain
• Excellent communication skills and basic IT skills are essential
