HR Advisor
We have a fantastic opportunity for a HR Executive (Advisor) to join a leading Law Firm based in Edinburgh.
Based in our clients offices in the City Centre, you will provide operational HR support to a number of teams across the business.
The successful candidate will possess experience in handling a variety of HR issues including recruitment, employee relations and employee reward, within a fast-paced environment.
What you’ll do

Supervise the firm's absence management procedures

Participate in the firm's graduate recruitment process

Formulate policies in accordance with legislative and organisational requirements
-
Draft and issue contracts of employment for employees
-
Assist the Senior D+I Executive in project endeavours within the firm, particularly concerning the Gender Focus Group and Wellbeing
-
Attend relevant recruitment fairs
-
Take part in onboarding processes as needed
-
Guide disciplinary, capability and grievance processes, offering managerial advice on statutory matters and drafting all associated documentation

Provide support for divisional statistical needs, such as tenders and press releases
-
Conduct exit interviews and utilise acquired insights to drive appropriate adjustments

Manage the firm's summer placement initiatives
-
Facilitate resolution of disputes between managers and employees
-
Contribute to the firm's summer placement initiatives
-
Collaborate with the L&D team to craft and implement suitable training regimes
-
Handle maternity leave arrangements and flexible working requests, drafting documentation
-
Routinely review and update policies for the HR team
-
Generate payroll documents for employees
-
Foster effective communication among all parties within the firm
-
Coordinate all recruitment and selection across designated teams/sites
-
Oversee the firmwide mentoring programme
-
Assist with the firm's annual salary assessment process

Undertake any other reasonable tasks as assigned by management
What you’ll need
-
Solid experience in an HR Advisory role, ideally within professional services
-
CIPD level 7 qualified, or at level 5 working towards 7
-
Comfortable working as part of a team but also using your own initiative
-
Excellent stakeholder management skills with a positive 'can do’ attitude
-
The ability to attain objectives within agreed timescales and budgets
-
Accuracy and a keen eye for detail
-
Solid organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure in a busy and demanding environment
-
You will be proficient with Word, Excel, and Outlook
