The HRBP plays a pivotal role in supporting the Senior HRBP within designated business areas (Corporate Functions) in a large matrix organisation.

I help to keep people safe and warm by…

  • Supporting line managers to deliver the people plan, aligned to business objectives.
  • Coordinating and ensuring the effective implementation of cyclical and non-cyclical people activities and projects, including performance and pay awards, talent and succession, organizational design, reward, and recruitment.
  • Coaching, challenging, and supporting managers, acting as a trusted advisor on people-related matters, providing guidance and support to drive performance and development.
  • Collaborating closely with other members of the HR team to ensure alignment and consistency of the employee experience, including working with colleagues in Centres of Expertise such as Recruitment, ER, and L&D.
  • Monitoring and analysing people metrics to drive insight and inform decision-making.

What you’ll need

  • Proven experience as an HR Business Partner or similar role, supporting corporate functions.
  • Strong understanding of HR principles, practices, and employment law - able to use this knowledge to recommend and support the delivery of pragmatic people outcomes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels across the organisation.
  • Ability to advise and influence at senior level management and a willingness to constructively challenge at all levels within the organisation. Comfortable with ambiguity.
  • Able to juggle multiple conflicting priorities and client groups, with a strong risk radar, knowing when to escalate to Senior HRBP.
  • Experience of working in a matrixed HR operating model (CoE / Partnering / HR Services)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think 'big picture’ and creatively to address complex issues.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems.
  • Curious, able to demonstrate commercial acumen and understanding of business, customer and market factors.
  • L5 CIPD qualified or studying towards (desirable but not essential).
