Reed HR are recruiting for an experienced HR Generalist to join an evolving organisation based in East Grinstead. This exciting role oversees the entire employee lifecycle, managing all activities across Employee Relations, Performance, Talent Development, Recruitment, System Implementation and various HR Projects. It's an exciting time to join this company, as they go through a period of cultural change, which the successful candidate will be at the forefront of. You’ll also get the chance to mentor and guide a motivated HR Assistant, playing a pivotal role in their professional growth.

* This role is a 12-month FTC covering a period of maternity leave. *

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for HR-related queries from employees and external partners.
  • Manage various HR documents and internal databases, such as holiday and sick leave, contracts, and staff training records.
  • Assist in the recruitment process by coordinating job postings, reviewing CVs, performing reference checks and issuing employment contracts.
  • Implement effective onboarding plans and conduct new employee orientations.
  • Support the development and implementation of HR initiatives and systems.
  • Provide counselling on policies and procedures to staff.
  • Be actively involved in HR projects, such as gathering data for salary reviews and job evaluations.
  • Administer HR-related documentation, such as contracts of employment and ensure the relevant HR database is up to date, accurate and complies with legislation.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as an HR Generalist or relevant human resources position.
  • Strong working knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.
  • Knowledge of HR systems and databases.
  • Ability to handle data with confidentiality.
  • Good organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • CIPD qualification or working towards it is desirable.
