The Company:
ER Recruitment are working exclusively with our client, a fast-paced, growing manufacturing company based in Melton Mowbray. Due to their success the team are looking to add an HR Manager to support the team on a day to day basis while still having the support of the HR Director.
The successful candidate will be professional and personable, with an enthusiasm for human resources in a generalist capacity.

Role & Responsibilities of the HR Manager:

  • Lead the HR team on a day to day basis.
  • Ensure all HR activities are addressed by the department in a timely manner by allocating work to the team. Also ensuring regular updates are provided to management on all cases.
  • Manage HR KPIs.
  • Provide advice and guidance to the management team.
  • Write, implement and review HR policies and procedures across the business.
  • Assist with the management of recruitment activities within the business.
  • Conduct HR meetings and employment relation cases.
  • Undertake regular audits of the departmental processes and resources in place, and to make recommendations and improvements accordingly.
  • Work with the HR team to manage probation reviews and poor performance matters as well as family issues (such as maternity/paternity) and issue correspondence letters in a timely manner.
  • Manage staff absences and health related matters, including using Occupational Health (as and when required).
  • Assist the HR Director with managing resources and budgets within the department.
  • Evaluate people risk and make informed decisions based on this information (e.g. forecasting and decision making to maximise business efficiencies).
  • Continually monitor current processes and identify ways to improve these processes and systems.
  • Manage a range of HR projects, which will include legal frameworks, staff engagement activities and other ad hoc projects.


About You as the HR Manager:

  • Previous experience in a similar role leading a small HR team.
  • Ideally CIPD qualified
  • Excellent organisation, communication and inter-personal skills
  • Background working in a busy manufacturing environment is desirable
  • Approachable personality and positive nature
  • Ability to communicate clearly at all levels
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and effectively multitask
  • Willingness to learn new skills and processes
  • Excellent time management skills
