Empowering Learning are a market leading education recruitment company. We are working in partnership with a large Secondary Academy based in Sheffield who are looking to appoint a Humanities Teacher to teach all Humanities with Geography to GCSE on a full time, long term basis from September.

Joining the school at the beginning of the Academic Year, you will be an integral part of the school team, building solid relationships and foundations with your exam groups, and ascertaining a mutually respectful way of working and progressing through the curriculum. The school have an inclusive environment focusing on the needs of every child as an individual.

We are seeking an outstanding candidate who is adept in teaching Humanities to Key Stage 3 and Geography to Key Stage 4. You will be joining a supportive and forward thinking school who work collaboratively to ensure a positive working environment for staff and students alike. In this full time role, planning and marking responsibilities would be required with PPA time given within your timetable.

The job

  • The school is looking for someone who is passionate about Humanities to provide the very best opportunity for students across the school.
  • In this exciting role, you will contribute to the strategic direction of your subject development across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
  • In addition, you will provide expertise in delivering exceptional, engaging, and ambitious lessons which will enable students a positive learning experience.
  • To provide outstanding teaching for learning which meets the needs of all students.
  • To support the school raising standards of teaching and learning across the department and in monitoring progress towards agreed aims.
  • To support the school in the implementation of agreed whole school policies and initiatives.
  • To plan and facilitate professional learning workshops as requested.

The successful candidate will

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Have outstanding teaching practice.
  • Have excellent behaviour management.
  • Have experience of lesson observations and giving robust feedback.
  • Have experience of improvement planning.
  • Have experience of implementing a range of strategies to raise student achievement, with evidence of success.
  • Contribution to impact on the quality of learning and teaching and curriculum.
  • A proven track record of excellent results at KS3/4
  • Have experience of high-quality pupil tracking and feedback practices.
