Are you a Humanities Teacher looking to work within a small Independent Specialist school?

Reed Education Southampton are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Humanities (Geography, History, RE) Teacher for a long-term, full-time temporary role within an Independent Specialist School located in the New Forest.

The school is a small Specialist and Independent School that provides an inclusive education within a safe, nurturing environment where pupil’s needs are met. The school is for pupils aged 8-16 years old who have a range of complex needs, including Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH), communication and interaction, and associated challenging behaviour.

As the Humanities Teacher, you will be responsible for the delivery of lesson content to pupils within your assigned classes, providing an adaptable yet informative approach catered to your pupils learning. You will work with the support staff within the classroom with you to provide tailored support to individuals in order for the content to be delivered appropriately, whilst providing a safe and calm learning environment.

This role is a long term, five days per week, temporary role up to at least October half term, and requires the successful candidate to mark pupil’s work. Planning is currently already in place, but appropriate delivery of the content is expected. You will be able to teach GCSE History, as well as deliver KS3 RE, Geography and History content. Class sizes are no bigger than 5 pupils who all have 1:1 support.

The salary for this role is currently set between £130-180 per day depending on experience, and can be negotiated.

For this role, you will be/have:

- Experience working with pupils with SEMH or similar

- Qualified Teacher Status (or equivalent) with a specialism in History or similar

- Ability to teach up to GCSE level

- Adaptable, patient and passionate about working with pupils and making a difference

- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to obtain one)
