We are currently working with local authority within East Riding who are seeking tutoring support for their pupils in Maths, English and Science.

Role: Hybrid Tutor

Subjects: Numeracy, Literacy (Primary) and English, Mathematics and Science (Secondary+)

Start date: September 2024

Online pay rate: £20.00 per hour

Face-To-Face pay rate: £25-30 per hour

The ideal tutor, for both in-person and online settings, is adaptable, patient, and tech-savvy. You should have excellent communication skills to explain complex concepts clearly in any format. Flexibility to switch teaching methods based on each student's needs, and good organisation to use online tools effectively. Most importantly, you should be passionate about education and committed to helping students succeed.

We are thrilled to connect with enthusiastic PGCE and QTS teachers eager to start or advance their careers in education. Having an active DBS on the update service is beneficial, or you should be willing to acquire one.

Desired Experience:

  • Prior experience in tutoring individuals or small groups requiring extra educational or pastoral care
  • Openness to constructive feedback and supervision
  • Familiarity with inclusion units, special education, or alternative provisions
  • Experience supporting students with SEN, undiagnosed SEN, disengaged youth, or looked-after children

Your Role:

  • Demonstrate subject expertise and tailor curriculum, crafting individualised lesson plans
  • Track student progress, identify areas for enhancement, and document achievements
  • Aid students with assignments, test prep, research, and other academic tasks
  • Help students grasp classroom concepts effectively
  • Contribute to student development and learning
  • Foster a growth mindset in teaching and learning
  • Collaborate with schools, foster carers, and social workers to provide personalised support
  • Adhere to KCSIE and safeguarding guidelines

Essential Qualities:

  • Inspiring and adaptable communication abilities
  • Proficient IT skills, including access to a computer, audio, and video
  • Reliable broadband and internet connection
  • Ability to build meaningful relationships and inspire students
