The responsibilities of the successful Hygiene Quality Assurance Technologist:

  • Night hygiene deep clean and days interim production hygiene audits on a scheduled basis.
  • Conduct scheduled and adhoc announced and unannounced site audits to ensure compliance with hygiene procedure and factory environment standards, with full documentation detailing corrective and preventative actions, verification closure to prevent repeats
  • Swabbing environmental monitoring verifications to be carried out according to schedules.
  • Targeted approach to prevent cross contamination hazards namely microbiological, allergenic, chemical and physical from the environment/equipment to product
  • Supporting the Site Standards Manager in completion of Hygiene Standards cleaning validation.
  • Conduct and support with hygiene investigations individual and/or trending out of specification microbiological, ATP, Allergen results.
  • Review and maintain the management of chemical controlled storage and identification in all site areas.
  • To be involved in audits on site by external bodies; Customer, BRC, Organic etc to ensure compliance with hygiene procedures and factory environment standards.
  • Monitoring the condition of hygiene equipment, production utensils, PPE etc reporting to the site standards controller to ensure issues are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Verification through monitoring staff entrance procedures into production areas, hand washing and PPE compliance.
  • Audit the hygiene teams on days and / or nights to identify and support with issues raised by BEF (i.e. operations, engineering or QA). Verify closure of the actions and ongoing monitoring for the issues.  
  • Maintaining and monitoring the compliance of hygiene documentation.
  • Work positively and cross functionally with all departments to drive continuous improvement and area ownership for high GMP site standards
  • To be a member of the site internal audit team for systems and practical factory audits
  • Fully understand and comply with all department and company policies and guidelines
  • Any other duties or projects that may be assigned as deemed necessary to the needs of the business.

The accountabilities of the successfulHygiene Quality Assurance Technologist:

  • Completion of Hygiene standards and audits in compliance with scheduled requirement
  • Swabbing in accordance with scheduled routine and validation requirement
  • Completion of hygiene investigations
  • Supporting the site to ensure no non-conformances in audits for hygiene related areas
  • Hygiene documentation well maintained

The successful candidate MUST:

  • Experience in food industry, understanding of HACCP, Hygiene Management/Control
  • Hygiene chemical trained / experience
  • Hygiene auditor trained / experience
