Adecco are pleased to be recruiting for an ICT Equipment Officer to join Devon & Cornwall Police at their HQ in Exeter, Middlemoor.

This role is office based, Monday - Friday. Office hours. This is a temporary post. The rate is £12.21 per hour.

PLEASE NOTE, DUE TO POLICE CRITERIA, YOU MUST HAVE LIVED IN THE UK FOR AT LEAST THE LAST 3 YEARS CONTINUOUSLY TO APPLY FOR THIS ROLE.

The role: To take requirements and specifications from teams with Alliance ICT and work with Purchasing Hub, Business Support Services, Procurement and suppliers to consolidate requirements to ensure best value is achieved by the Alliance with responsibilities that include but are not limited to:-

  • Producing ICT equipment specifications with support of others for hardware and services
  • Maintain a database of 3rd party contracts and their key attributes such as contact details, goods and services offered, link to website and other resources and key police users of the services. Liaison with Procurement and Purchasing areas
  • Act as single point of contact for issues relating to ICT equipment orders, including documenting any decisions made.
  • Consolidating requirement and demand for ICT equipment
  • Ordering on behalf of the ICT Department equipment such as; desktops computers, laptops, ancillaries, radio accessories, standard phone and computer lines /links
  • Receipting goods as received and updating stock lists.
  • Liaising with Procurement and Purchasing areas
  • Planning and ICT equipment stock maintenance and stock management

Role Specific Training will be provided.

The skills required for this role are as follows:

  • Ability to undertake and achieve ITIL Service Management certification if not held already
  • Provide Customer Service
  • Gather Information to support action
  • Make best use of technology
  • Provide Specialist Advice and Knowledge
  • Maintain a record management system
  • Demonstrable ability to support and maintain documentation and databases
  • Proven commitment to providing exceptional customer service
  • Proven ability to work unsupervised, to demanding timescales and as part of a team
  • Experience of working in user-focused ICT service delivery environment
  • Demonstrably effective communications skills
  • Demonstrably good communication skills with the ability to communicate
  • technical information in a meaningful way to a non-specialist customer base
  • Proven problem solving ability
  • Fully competent and experienced in Microsoft office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel and SharePoint
