ICT Infrastructure Engineer

iO Associates have partnered with a leading local authority to find an ICT Infrastructure Engineer. The ideal candidate will monitor and support directory services, desktop delivery, and infrastructure, document processes, update ITSM records, create knowledge articles, provide absence cover for the senior operator, assist in infrastructure support, and liaise with stakeholders per Council values.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and support core Directory and Desktop Delivery Services to ensure reliability and performance within SLAs.
  • Manage and monitor infrastructure technologies to maintain security, data protection, and optimal system performance.
  • Identify trends through routine tasks for capacity and availability management, escalating issues as needed.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and process incidents/changes in line with SLAs to ensure service continuity.
  • Collaborate with third parties and internal teams to deliver contracted infrastructure services effectively.

Requirements:

  • Minimum one year of experience in ICT system administration, including commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) software and server OS management.
  • Skilled in executing precompiled scripts, maintaining server infrastructure, and escalating only complex issues.
  • Proficient in asset/configuration management, change control, and ensuring availability & capacity meet business needs.
  • Strong understanding of information security, modern standards, systems integration, and technical testing.
  • Ability to take ownership of issues, drive service improvements, and support process optimisation.
