ICT Technician - Mid-Cheshire - September 2024

Academics are looking to place a motivated, high quality ICT Technician into an 11-18 Academy that is constantly progressing.

The academy is based in the Mid-Cheshire area with the role due to start in September 2024 and initally run until the Xmas break.

The role is for 37 hours per week (8am until 4pm) and rates can be discussed upon application.

The successful candidate will be joining a very supportive and hardworking school in which innovation is actively encouraged.

Experience of working in a school environment is not neccesary but would be advantageous.

Main Responsibilities

1.

To maintain departmental computer systems in accordance with Academy needs and requirements.

2.

Ensure an effective and efficient system is in place to record incidents at the Academy, and accurately maintain this system to ensure the Academy's day to day business is maintained.

3.

Liaise regularly with other team members to discuss issues and technical solutions in order that a solution can be delivered and implemented accordingly.

4.

To contribute to both general and specialist knowledge and support in order to achieve the service of objectives of the Academy and wider IT team.

5.

To make general and minor independent decisions on IT provision and support as appropriate; regularly update and liaise with the ICT Officers in respect of Academy issues and solutions.

6.

To plan, prioritise and organise your own work, and ensure that the ICT Officers are kept appraised on workload delivery and implementation in order that the smooth operation of the Academy is maintained.

7.

To solve technical and other problems on a daily basis to ensure the Academy can continue to provide a high quality service to staff and students.

8.

Establish the basic facts in situations which require further investigation and refer to the ICT Officers where a more technical solution /situation is identified.

9.

Ensure that continued high standards are delivered across the Academy by its technical solutions and systems by ensuring all faults and reports are dealt with in an effective, efficient and timely manner.
