Our algorithms are the basis of our patient-facing digital consultations and doctor-facing decision making tool.

Role Purpose

The post-holder will provide personal digital medical services to registered patients on the LloydsPharmacy Online Doctor patient list. The principal responsibility of the post-holder will be the assessment of sexual medicine cases, prescribing medication where appropriate.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide a full range of medical services, practicing and prescribing independently. This comprises principally of questionnaire based and algorithm assisted consultations but also includes telephone consultations
• The case-load will be split amongst the clinical team consisting of independent prescribing pharmacists, nurses and doctors, all of which hold similar consulting and prescribing responsibilities.
• Providing compassionate care, upholding the highest standards of empathy, dignity and integrity in all actions.
• Proactively contribute towards driving good clinical governance and quality improvement at all times.
• Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems.
• Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
• In consultation with patients and in line with current internal guidelines, develop care plans for that patient.
• Completing of clinically related administrative and non-clinical duties needed for the delivery of the service.
• Providing counseling and health education.
• Refer and signpost patients for further opinions and interventions where required.
• Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards.
• Compiling and issuing computer-generated prescriptions, and on extremely rare occasions hand-writing prescriptions if required.
• Prescribing in accordance with the LloydsPharmacy Online Doctor prescribing formulary whenever this is clinically appropriate.
• Identifying, reflecting on and preventing significant events and untoward incidents.
• Participating in teaching and education as required.
• Continually monitor and review internal clinical guidelines to ensure they are updated according to national clinical guidelines, writing guidelines for new services.
• Reviewing and writing clinical content for internal and external communication.
• Presenting and publishing at academic and other professional conferences and meetings.
• Active involvement in the research and development of services.
• Attendance at meetings and education sessions as deemed necessary.
• Ensure that the complaints system is adhered to at all times.
• Awareness and compliance with all relevant internal guidelines e.g. data protection, confidentiality and health and safety.
• Attending training and events organized by LloydsPharmacy Online Doctor or other agencies, where appropriate.

Experience and Qualifications

Essential:

• Independent Prescriber qualification
• GPhc registration
• Experience of effectively handling customer complaints
• Energetic, empathetic communicator
• Excellent patient centered dispute management skills using first time resolution approach
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient in applications such as Outlook, Excel, Word, MS Teams
• Well organized, motivated

Desirable:

• 1 year prescribing experience
• General Practice prescribing experience
• Experience in medicated weight loss consultations
• Pharmacy Clinical Diploma
