Infrastructure Engineer

Infrastructure Engineer - 3rd line Support - 6 month contract - Glasgow

I have a number of contract roles for experienced Infrastructure Engineers for our client in Glasgow.

Core duties will include:

• Advanced Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues escalated from 1st-2nd line support, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance of IT systems.
• Infrastructure Management: Oversee and maintain enterprise-level IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, storage solutions, and cloud environments.
• System Optimisation: Perform regular system audits and optimisation tasks to enhance the efficiency, reliability, and security of the IT infrastructure.
• Project Implementation: Lead and support infrastructure projects, such as system upgrades, migrations, and new deployments, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and industry standards.
• Technical Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including infrastructure designs, procedures, and troubleshooting guides, to support ongoing operations and knowledge sharing within the team.

Essential skills required:

• Background working in a similar role, with previous background in the public sector preferred.
• Current CTC / SC / DV Clearance or eligibility to go through security screening
• Excellent technical knowledge of Windows / Linux / Mobile, Cloud and Virtualisation based technologies
• Strong skills in Microsoft Endpoint Manager / Intune, Active Directory, MS Exchange, SCCM, Clustering, Security, etc.
• Excellent analytical and troubleshooting experience
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to adapt to changing priorities
• Ability to challenge, negotiate and influence stakeholders at all levels
• Flexibility to work 3-4 days onsite
