Infrastructure Support Engineer

Infrastructure Support Engineer- Insurance - City, London

This role is Hybrid working 2 days per week in offices in the City of London and the remainder remotely working as an Infrastructure Support Engineer.

Our Client, a specialist Consultancy who supply the Lloyd's of London Insurance market are looking for an Infrastructure Support Engineer to join their small dedicated team to maintain existing on-premise and Azure cloud infrastructure systems within the company.

The Infrastructure Support Engineer will be involved in all aspects of IT infrastructure support, from communications/networking, server and PC build, desktop support and remote data centre management.

Key responsibilities:-

• Build, maintain, and support the physical and virtual environment, network storage, backup, and recovery systems
• Configure all server builds and networks in compliance with IT security policies and accreditation standards
• Maintain software compliance for server operating systems, applications and client licences
• Monitor usage and performance to ensure Servers and services are operating correctly
• Work within the remit of the organisations cyber security policies
• Building and maintaining the IT hosting and security infrastructure
• Provide support to users
• Being part of the on-call IT rota to respond to emergencies and perform remote access
• Regularly auditing the network and systems to ensure compliance with IT policies and to identify areas for upgrades or improvements

Skills/experience required:-

• Experience with virtual environments (VMWare) and core Windows OS administration skills
• MS Azure knowledge
• Knowledge of server and storage hardware, IT security, high availability environments, and IP fundamentals
• Experience with Mobile Device Management (MDM)
• Knowledge of IP phone systems
• Relevant Microsoft qualifications, A+, Network+ or Security+ are a strong bonus
