Job Title: Installation Engineer

Job Type: Permanent

Responsible to: Head of Installations

Aim of Job: To complete the installation of all projects and products in our Clients portfolio

Areas available: Reading (2), Midlands, Bristol

Duties, Responsibilities and Skill Sets

  • To install all products as supplied by Herbert Retail Limited and any 3rd party supplier to an acceptable standard in customer premises.

  • Complete all associated training as required, ensuring that you are capable and confident in completing tasks. This may require lone working.

  • To install all products as supplied by Herbert Retail Limited and any 3rd party supplier to an acceptable standard in customer premises.
  • Can install & verify scales, once training course has been completed, in a range of customer sites.
  • Manage installations on site and interact with other contractors to ensure a 'one team’ work ethic.
  • Frequently working as part of a team surveying, installing & maintaining a number of 'People counting’ solutions.
  • Ensure all Installations are completed on time with minimal store impact.
  • Complete all site sign offs and paperwork, ensure all administration tasks are completed on time & in good condition.
  • Liaise with client on site and ensure a win: win solution to issues where possible.
  • Attend all sites on time, keeping constant contact with Install Admin & Duty Manager.
  • Windows Word/Excel proficiency, structured cabling skills, ability to install containment whilst working at height, CSCS, IPAF & general IT skills - this training can be provided and is not essential to apply.
  • To carry out any other request compatible with the Job Description as identified by Head of Installations or the Operations Director.

The annual minimum salary for an Install Engineer is £26,769 based on a 45-hour working week.

However, there is a broad range of earnings, with the average earnings last year being £36,000. There is opportunity to work as much as you like - so earnings can be even higher if you have the skills / willingness and availability.

Probationary period: 1 month.

During this probationary period, our Client pays newly hired engineers on a salary based on minimum wage to allow the onboarding process, training and time to allocate sufficient work to begin earning.

Holidays, these are paid at a flat rate, then a "true up" is done at the end of the holiday year to top up the pay to average earnings over the past 12 months.

Sick Pay, this is paid at minimum wage.

Training will be provided.

Work location: On the road.
