Insurance Assistant- Insurance - City - upto £48,000

Wise May are looking for a Portfolio Operations Assistant to join a busy international Insurance business in the City.

Responsible for the administration of Insurance and/or Reinsurance accounts and contracts, from establishing and maintaining contractual data, processing the Insurance and/or Reinsurance account bookings, claims handling and manage the related cash flow. Candidate will also support the Underwriters in administrative activities related to the underwriting process.

Duties include:

- Maintenance of all Underwriting and Operational support tasks process documentation.

- Allocation of outwards reinsurance premium messages.

- Check and process of accounts and claims advices.

- Clarify discrepancies of accounts and claims with underwriters/ claim experts/ cedents/brokers.

- Manage cashflow including setting-up of client bank accounts in the accounting system, processing of outgoing/incoming payments and follow up on pending payments and open balances.

- Perform ICS controls (Internal Control System).

- Liaise with the other stakeholder, e.g. underwriters, reserving, closing team, financial accounting.

- Understanding of the company priorities and act accordingly.

- Organize and monitor the workload within the team, maintain a low backlog, intervene when needed and set priorities.

- In charge of HR topics within the team.

Skills required:

- Highly motivated.

- Exceptional organisational skills.

- Advanced MS Office skills (focus on MS Excel, Power Query).

- Business Objects skills beneficial.

- Power Bi, Tableau, skills beneficial.

Monday - Friday, 09:00-17:00, hybrid working.
