Integration Specialist

Salary: From £40,000 per annum negotiable depending on experience, plus great benefits of 31 days holiday, pension, budget for learning, £250 towards home office plus more.
Permanent and Fixed term contracts available
Location: Hybrid - flexibility to work from home or main hubs (London, Bristol, Manchester and Harwell)

My client are not-for-profit data and tech organisation with big plans to improve lives through education by providing hardware, software and networking solutions within the education sector.

About the role:
The Analytics and Data Projects team ingests, shapes, stores and facilitates the provision of operational data to support product owners, data analysts and business users across the business. They also engineer the APIs that facilitate integrations across system and service assets, with the aim to provide a set of well-managed, reliable APIs, data platforms, associated data access technologies and advice to help exploit business value from them.

This pivotal role will play a key part in the roll out of their MuleSoft integration platform to connect systems and services together.


Responsibilities will include:
• Develop and maintain new integrations, and changes to existing integrations, between systems and services and design integrations solutions and document the design in accordance with best practice whilst supporting development on resolving system defects, acting as liaison, and developing solutions.
• Participate in testing and release cycles in order to monitor performance and reliability of integrations.
• Provide technical assistance to troubleshoot and resolve integration errors.
• Demonstrate functionality to users, either face to face, or remotely.

Key Skills and Experience:
• In-depth knowledge and working experience of integrating with APIs.
• Experience with Java or at least another Object-Oriented language.
• Working knowledge of HTTP, in particular request/response patterns, REST and common methods (GET/POST/PUT/DELETE/PATCH), and ideally in XML, JSON and YAML.
• Knowledge and experience of database design concepts and usage.
• Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical audiences, as well as demonstrating work to stakeholders.
