My client is a dynamic and fast-growing business with a turnover of circa £30 million, backed by a leading private equity firm. The company is at an exciting stage of its growth journey, with ambitious plans to scale further and maximize value for its stakeholders

Role Overview:

As the Interim Finance Director, you will play a critical role in shaping the financial strategy and ensuring the business meets its financial objectives. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the finance function, from financial planning and analysis to reporting and compliance. Your leadership will be crucial in driving the business through this period of growth, ensuring robust financial controls, and preparing the company for its next phase, which could include refinancing, M&A activity, or a sale.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Financial Leadership: Provide strategic financial guidance to the board and executive team, supporting decision-making and ensuring alignment with the company’s growth objectives.
  • Financial Planning & Analysis: Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes, ensuring accuracy and alignment with business goals.
  • Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation and presentation of accurate and timely financial reports to stakeholders, including the private equity backers.
  • Cash Flow & Working Capital Management: Ensure effective cash flow management, optimize working capital, and support the business in maintaining a strong financial position.
  • Risk Management & Compliance: Ensure robust financial controls are in place, maintain compliance with regulatory requirements, and manage risk effectively.
  • Operational Efficiency: Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and systems, driving efficiency and effectiveness across the finance function.
  • Support M&A Activity: Provide financial expertise and support for potential mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic initiatives.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a high-performance culture and ensuring the team is aligned with the company’s strategic objectives.
Key Requirements:
  • Experience: Proven experience as a Finance Director, ideally within a private equity-backed business. Strong understanding of the dynamics of a high-growth environment.
  • Financial Expertise: Strong technical accounting skills, with a thorough understanding of financial regulations, compliance, and best practices.
  • Strategic Mindset: Ability to think strategically, with a focus on driving value creation and supporting business growth.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated leadership skills, with experience in managing and developing finance teams.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build strong relationships with stakeholders.
