The Interim Group Reporting and Technical Accounting Manager will work within the Group Financial Control team reporting to the Head of Group Reporting. The key focus of this role will be supporting on all IFRS technical accounting matters and ensuring that financial reporting is of a high standard produced to specified deadlines for external reporting. THE GIG As our Interim Group Reporting and Technical Accounting Manager you will be responsible for:
  • Supervising a team of 3 direct reports: 1 Technical Group Reporting Accountant and 2 Group Reporting Accountants.
  • Overseeing production and review of consolidated interim/full-year financial statements and disclosure notes.
  • Compiling support documentation for senior Finance stakeholders and external auditors.
  • Coordinating multiple teams to meet reporting timetables and standards.
  • Managing relationships with external auditors and address audit issues.
  • Evaluating audit requests and financial statement comments based on statutory and accounting requirements.
  • Acting as the key point of contact for technical accounting across the Group.
  • Providing technical accounting support to Regional/Group Finance teams.
  • Preparing and reviewing technical accounting papers for senior finance leaders and auditors.
  • Monitoring and reporting on new accounting and governance standards.
  • Developing and delivering learning materials for Global Finance teams.
  • Overseeing IFRS 16 accounting across the Group.
  • Preparing and reviewing recurring financial reports, including revenue and cash flow analysis.
  • Managing Dr. Martens Foundation monthly journals, accounts, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Supporting month-end processes and Group consolidation tasks.
  • Ensuring Regional Finance team submissions align with Group policies.
  • Maintaining Group and EMEA control matrices and segregation of duty matrices.
  • Ensuring control documentation is current and adequate.
  • Assisting in coaching and developing Group Reporting and Regional Finance team members.
THE STUFF THAT SETS YOU APART Put simply, for this role the key things we’re looking for are:
  • Qualified ACA with extensive experience in IFRS, listed organizations, and multi-currency consolidation; up-to-date knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • Proactive manager and coach with excellent organizational, time management, and team management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with extensive experience in preparing or auditing IFRS financial statements and technical accounting areas in group consolidation and subsidiary financial statements.
  • Excellent attention to detail, pride in producing quality work, and drive to deliver outstanding results.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to juggle multiple commitments effectively; industry experience preferred but not essential.
