Interim HR Advisor (6m FTC)

Contract: 6M FTC

Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 (pro-rata)

Location: Fully remote - occasional travel to Manchester as required

Hours: Mon - Fri, office hours

What you'll do:

As an Interim HR Advisor, your role will be pivotal in delivering a comprehensive people service to the business. You'll be involved in a wide range of employee matters from recruitment to performance management. Your excellent problem-solving skills will be utilised in managing employee relations cases while your strong interpersonal skills will help build effective working relationships with stakeholders at all levels. Your commitment to continuous professional development will ensure you stay ahead of UK employment law and HR best practices.

  • Act as the first point of contact for managers and employees regarding people queries and issues.
  • Provide advice on employment law, policies, and best practices.
  • Manage and resolve employee relations issues, including disciplinary, grievance, and performance coaching cases.
  • Assist in the recruitment process, including drafting job descriptions, advertising vacancies and conducting interviews.
  • Support managers in the performance coaching process, providing guidance on setting objectives and evaluating performance.
  • Ensure that people policies and procedures are up-to-date and compliant with current employment legislation.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations.
  • Identify training needs and coordinate the delivery of learning and development initiatives.
  • Assist in the planning and implementation of organisational changes.
  • Promote employee well-being initiatives.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Interim HR Advisor position brings proven experience in a similar role along with a CIPD qualification (Level 5 or above) or equivalent experience. Your knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practices will be essential in this role. You have demonstrated strong interpersonal skills in previous roles, building effective working relationships with stakeholders at all levels. Your excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to handle sensitive issues with discretion will be key in managing employee relations cases. Your strong organisational skills and attention to detail will ensure that people policies, procedures, and practices are adhered to.

  • CIPD qualification (Level 5 or above) or equivalent experience is desirable.
  • Proven experience in a people advisory role.
  • Experience in managing employee relations cases.
  • Knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practices.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to handle sensitive issues with discretion.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in people software and Microsoft Office.
