Business Development Executive - Construction and Building Materials - Competitive Salary + Bonuses & Benefits - London, SE11

The Role

Are you an experienced sales professional in the construction or architectural products industries? Do you excel in building lasting customer relationships? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you.

We are a leading manufacturer and supplier for the facade cladding sector, looking to appoint an internal and external business development executive to our growing team.

The ideal candidates will have a strong background in sales and customer service, with the Internal business development executive focusing on supporting our internal operations and driving sales growth from within the company, and the External business development executive excelling in the construction or architectural products industry, developing new business opportunities, and building lasting client relationships.

The Internal business development executive position is completely office-based. The External business development executive will work in a hybrid model and may need to go to the office at least once a week as requested by the Sales Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and pursue new sales opportunities through prospecting, networking, and direct outreach to potential clients.
  • Generate new inquiries to expand the customer base.
  • Respond to inquiries promptly, providing product information and accurate cost estimates.
  • Handle incoming sales inquiries and provide detailed product information.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing clients and new prospects, understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions.
  • Present and demonstrate our products to architects, contractors, and other potential customers.
  • Develop and present effective sales pitches to showcase our products.
  • Prepare and present sales proposals and contracts.
  • Prepare and follow up on sales quotations to secure sales.
  • Achieve sales targets and objectives set by management.
  • Manage orders from initiation to completion, ensuring timely delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities in the CRM system.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities for growth.
  • Provide feedback to the business development team based on customer insights and market trends.
  • Collaborate with internal sales, marketing, and technical teams to ensure a cohesive sales strategy and excellent customer service.
  • Enhance brand visibility through strategic networking and relationship-building efforts.

The Person

  • Proven experience in sales, preferably in the construction or architectural products industry.
  • Strong sales and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  • Strong organisational and time-management abilities.
  • Proficiency in using CRM software and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Self-motivated and goal-oriented with a drive to achieve results.
  • High level of attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to meet with clients and attend industry events.
