The Opportunity

This is an opportunity for an experienced Internal Communications and Engagement Lead to contribute to the development of the overall communications strategy and plan for a national business in the automotive sector with over 1000 staff. This will be a Part Time role working 16 hours per week from offices in Kirkby in Ashfield area. You will have responsibility for the management of communications for and supporting UK MD and Executive Directors with relevant communications across their functions and for the organisation as a whole.

You will focus upon improving the e-nps score for the business, underpinned by effective and improving communications. There will be a focus on the candidate journey at recruitment, taking the business further to an employer of choice reputation in the market place. You will also look to reduce attrition and support improvements arising from the employee survey. This will involve communicating what people want to know by developing content for the SharePoint/intranet, along with other internal and external channels.

You will also support sales and commercial with effective communications planning for bid proposals and general marketing.

Role overview

Reporting to the HRD this is a subject matter expert, newly created role, working with exec leaders, managers and staff across the whole business including Wholesale and Distribution. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Delivery of high-quality timely internal communications and employee engagement framework and content
  • working collaboratively with the Marketing and PR teams to ensure that internal and external voices are aligned
  • Responsibility for the architecture of the intranet (and or Group solutions) and navigation for colleagues, ensuring information is up to date, accurate and accessible
  • Supporting employee engagement activities across the business, working in partnership with HR, L&D and Group
  • Supporting all managers with the development of their communications skills to ensure engaging and positive communications which support  the candidate and employee journey, including the introduction of company values and standards
  • Build a cohesive plan and total project management of the Employee Survey and an Engagement Survey
  • Devise, manage and co-ordinate the employee communication forum
  • Build the Communication strategy & calendar- aligning Comms team, functional comms plans, marketing and PR teams

About You

You will be an experienced internal communications and engagement professional with demonstrable experience of managing employee communications and creating content for internal and external platforms.

Strong IT skills would be helpful especially someone who is digital and social media savvy with familiarity with SharePoint/intranet development and Comms software. You will have experience of implementing an effective comms infrastructure with all systems and collateral to engender a “one team together” ethos.
