Inventory & Merch Planning Manager | Fashion Retail | North West | c.£65k

Zachary Daniels Recruitment are delighted to have partnered with one of the UK's leading fashion brands on a new role. Established over 20 years ago this is an established but growing omni-channel retail business going through an exciting period of change.

Working as part of the Logistics & Supply Chain team, the Inventory & Planning Merch Manager is responsible for managing and optimising the end-to-end stock flow within the supply chain. This role involves coordinating with various departments, overseeing inventory levels, and ensuring timely delivery of products. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to manage complex processes efficiently.

The ideal candidate will be accustomed to managing large data sets having a strong proficiency in Power BI. Applicants must have knowledge of managing the critical path within a fashion supply chain.

Responsibilities of the Inventory & Merch Planning Manager:

  • Develop and maintain the critical path schedule for all stock flow processes.
  • Monitor key milestones and deadlines to ensure timely delivery of products.\
  • Identify potential risks and bottlenecks in the supply chain and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Work closely with merchandising, imports, logistics and retail teams to align supply chain activities with business objectives.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure transparency and alignment on stock flow issues.
  • Lead cross-functional meetings to review progress and address challenges in the supply chain.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve supply chain processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Implement best practices for critical path tracking and stock flow management.
  • Utilise data analysis tools to drive decision-making and process improvements.
  • Generate regular reports on stock flow performance and critical path status.
  • Conduct root cause analysis of any supply chain disruptions and develop corrective actions.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to senior management based on data analysis.

The ideal candidate:

  • *Advanced Excel skills
  • *Power BI experience including ability to visualise complex data in simple ways
  • *Demonstratable experience of managing stock operations (Fashion retail would be an advantage)
  • *Demonstratable experience of working as part (or very close with) merchandising and logistics teams
  • *Understanding of retail industry including ecommerce is desirable
  • *IT savvy including the ability to learn new systems if required
  • *Results driven, hardworking and willing to work extra hours dependent on business need
