The Senior Investment Accountant is responsible for investment accounting, encompassing both fund administration as well as maintenance of accounting ledgers and preparation of financial statements for a number of investment entities.

Client Details

In house role covering fund accounting, corporate accounting and fund administration. Investment Management and Advisory. Central London. Hybrid working (3 days in the office per week).

Description

Investment Accounting: Fund Administration

  • Processing fund call and distribution notices: entering notices received from funds in the fund accounting system.
  • Processing periodic fund valuation notices.
  • Set-up of new funds and commitments.
  • Enter subscriptions and redemptions from approved investment recommendations.

Investment Accounting: Reconciliation process

  • Posting cash journals to record miscellaneous payments/receipts recorded in the bank into the ledger
  • Reconcile fund calls and distributions with the clients' global custodian.
  • Reconcile ownership of the fund investments across the clients to check it is line with recommended allocations.

Investment Accounting: Year-end process

  • Prepare year-end financial statements for a number of investment entities. (In total there are approx. 50 investment entities maintained, of which an allocation is managed by the Senior Investment Accountant).
  • Manage audit requests for relevant entities/areas.

Support to Corporate Accounting function

  • The corporate accounting function manages the ledgers for the UK and its 2 overseas subsidiaries and the Senior Investment Accountant may be called on to support with relevant GL management

Profile

The ideal candidate will be available to start the role in Mid October 2024 and commit to a minimum period of 8 months or more

You must have:

  • Experience of fund or investment accounting including month end processes
  • Experience of bank and other balance sheet reconciliations
  • High degree of integrity in dealing with confidential information

Qualifications:

  • ACCA or ACA qualified
