This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic investment firm and work directly with senior leadership on high-impact transactions. The ideal candidate will have strong financial modeling skills, a deep understanding of credit structuring, and experience working with legal documentation in private credit transactions.

Role Overview

The Investment Associate will play a critical role in supporting the structuring and execution of complex asset-backed credit transactions, with a focus on legal analysis, credit risk assessment, and portfolio management. The role requires strong quantitative, analytical, and legal skills, as well as the ability to work on bespoke financing structures and negotiate transaction documentation.

Key Responsibilities

Investment Structuring & Execution

  1. Lead the structuring of asset-backed private credit transactions, ensuring alignment with risk and return objectives.
  2. Work closely with legal counsel to review and negotiate loan agreements, security documents, intercreditor agreements, and other transaction documentation.
  3. Analyze collateral structures, borrower creditworthiness, and cash flow dynamics to optimize deal terms.
  4. Ensure that legal and financial structures align with investor requirements and regulatory considerations.
  5. Assist in developing transaction frameworks, including bespoke lending structures and credit enhancements.

Financial Modeling & Credit Analysis

  1. Build detailed financial models to assess debt structures, collateral performance, and downside risk.
  2. Perform cash flow analysis, stress testing, and sensitivity analysis to evaluate investment risk.
  3. Conduct credit underwriting, assessing borrower financials, repayment capacity, and industry risks.
  4. Prepare detailed investment memoranda and presentations for internal discussions and Investment Committee review.

Legal & Due Diligence Support

  1. Lead legal due diligence efforts, ensuring thorough review of transaction documents and legal risks.
  2. Work with external law firms, tax advisors, and structuring specialists to refine transaction frameworks.
  3. Ensure compliance with UK and international regulatory requirements relevant to private credit investments.
  4. Support negotiations on loan terms, covenant structures, and enforcement rights to protect investor interests.

Portfolio Management & Asset Monitoring

  1. Support ongoing management of investments, ensuring compliance with legal and financial covenants.
  2. Monitor borrower performance, collateral valuation, and loan servicing metrics.
  3. Assist in restructuring and work-out situations, helping to negotiate modifications to existing agreements.
  4. Maintain and enhance risk management frameworks, ensuring timely identification of potential credit issues.

Strategic Growth & Investor Relations

  1. Assist in identifying new investment themes and structuring innovative credit solutions.
  2. Support investor relations efforts by preparing reports, updates, and transaction summaries.
  3. Contribute to process improvements and operational efficiency within the investment team.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  1. 2-5 years of experience in private credit, investment banking, structured finance, or asset-based lending.
  2. Strong understanding of credit structuring, transaction documentation, and legal due diligence.
  3. Experience reviewing and negotiating legal agreements, including loan documentation and security structures.
  4. Strong financial modeling and credit underwriting skills, with the ability to assess complex debt structures.
  5. Exposure to asset-backed lending, structured credit, and bespoke financing solutions.
  6. Highly detail-oriented, with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  7. Entrepreneurial mindset, with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  8. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing investment memos and legal summaries.
