Department Overview

Morgan Stanley Investment Research is one of the financial industry's dominant thought leaders in equity and fixed income investing. Our teams collaborate to assist Morgan Stanley clients with investment decisions, using cash and derivative instruments across major asset classes and geographies. The Global Macro Strategy team is seeking a European Interest Rate Strategist. The primary responsibility would be to cover rates/bond and FX markets in the CEEMEA region, with the potential to lead the firm's franchise for the region.

What will you be doing?

The European Interest Rate Strategy team is seeking a candidate to join the team in London to focus on European interest rate and/or European inflation markets, including both cash and derivative markets. This is an exciting opportunity to develop skills related to fixed income and market analysis. The candidate will be able to take part in all stages of the research process - including idea generation, data analysis and report writing. The role will also involve maintenance and development of the various analytical tools and models produced by the team for clients.

What we're looking for:
- Macro Research experience is essential.
- Rates Strategy experience is desirable.
- An undergraduate or master's degree in quantitative/finance/economic related subjects.
- Strong interest in the financial markets with excellent quantitative and analytical skills, and experience with Excel or another statistical package.
- Ability to work collaboratively as a team player and interact effectively with other research, sales, and trading teams across the firm.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Intellectual curiosity, focus and creativity, and have a keen research instinct with creative problem-solving abilities.

Certified Persons Regulatory Requirements:

This role is deemed as a Certified role and may require the role holder to hold mandatory regulatory qualifications or the minimum qualifications to meet internal company benchmarks.

Morgan Stanley's London office, 20 Bank Street in Canary Wharf.
