Role: IT Infrastructure Engineer
Location: Manchester
Salary: £40,000

My client is dedicated to providing top-tier technical expertise and support for both internal and customer-facing IT infrastructure. They are seeking an innovative and passionate IT Infrastructure Technical Specialist who is eager to embrace new technologies and overcome diverse challenges across traditional IT systems, cloud solutions, IT security, and IoT applications.

Key Responsibilities:
* Project Support: Assist project, small works, and service teams in delivering and maintaining IT infrastructure for security systems.
* Internal IT Projects: Collaborate with the internal IT team on infrastructure projects, penetration testing, and obtaining cyber essentials certifications.
* Design Collaboration: Work closely with the design team to create and specify IT infrastructure solutions.
* Sales Support: Provide technical assistance to sales teams on security, hosting, and infrastructure inquiries.
* Server Configuration: Prebuild and preconfigure servers and support networking infrastructure.
* Cloud Services: Set up and support cloud and hosted services.
* System Maintenance: Perform remote patching, maintenance, and upkeep of customer systems.
* Documentation Management: Maintain, create, and manage system, credential, and asset documentation.
* Wireless Networks: Support both internal and customer project wireless networks.

Technical Expertise:
* Advanced knowledge of IP networking.
* Expertise in enterprise-level system infrastructure (physical and virtual), security applications, network infrastructure architecture, Active Directory, vitalisation (Hyper-V or VMware), and wireless LANs/WANs.

Desirable Experience:
* Security Systems: Familiarity with access control, CCTV, intercom, and intruder systems.
* Technical Skills: Knowledge of digital electronic and electrical systems, database architecture, Microsoft Azure Fundamentals, Amazon AWS, backup software and technologies (e.g., Veeam), server resiliency, networking resiliency, and disaster recovery planning and management.
