Job Title: IT Infrastructure Technician

Location: Wakefield (5 days a week on-site)

We are hiring for an IT Infrastructure Technician for a dynamic and growth-oriented company specialising in building control. This role is crucial for maintaining a resilient and reliable technology infrastructure that supports the entire organisation and its associated partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and maintain a resilient and reliable technology infrastructure.
  • Liaise with suppliers, including Managed Service Providers, to ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Provide IT support services to internal and external customers, particularly on bespoke applications.
  • Bridge the gap between business needs and IT services, ensuring comprehensive support across all IT and Telecoms aspects.
  • Contribute to defining and implementing IT policies, standards, and compliance monitoring.
  • Ensure 24/7 availability of IT environments, focusing on stability and security.
  • Manage data integrity and system backup processes, including regular audits.
  • Implement and manage operational and change management procedures.
  • Maintain PCI-DSS compliance and prioritize security in all decision-making processes.
  • Identify and address key IT risks, ensuring robust service provision.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate hardware and software inventories.
  • Provide strategic technological suggestions to senior management to improve business processes and productivity.
  • Control and record IT and telecoms budgets, providing regular reports to senior management.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Ability to perform under pressure, particularly in managing P1 incidents and tight deadlines.
  • Strong multitasking and relationship management skills with stakeholders and partners.
  • Experience in implementing change control and identifying IT risks.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, across all organizational levels.
  • Broad technical experience with Windows infrastructure, firewalls, switches, servers (physical/virtual), VoIP telephony, and hosted applications.
  • Ability to translate technical concepts for upper management and align IT strategies with business goals.
  • Understanding of PCI-DSS, Data Protection legislation, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Relevant degree or equivalent experience.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with outsourced support services.
  • Experience in a regulated environment (e.g., CICAIR, BSA).
  • Experience supporting/administering multi-site enterprise IT environments.
