About the Role:

Are you a talented and experienced support engineer with a varied technical skill set and looking for a new challenge? Are you passionate about technology, with a strong customer service ethos, wanting to work with emerging technologies?

Our manufacturing client is going through significant growth and we are looking to add a talented member to their team. The IT Support Technician role will be based in their Eastleigh office reporting to the Director of IT. You will provide effective solutions for day-to-day business technical issues, and provide a high level of technical expertise to the business. You will be managing 1st & 2nd line incidents/calls and be involved in fixes for users remotely or onsite where needed, a willingness to be office based and travel is a must. You will be involved in project work as required by the business.

You will have a strong customer service ethos and passion for resolving queries to a high standard within SLA's. You will have a broad technical skill set and be keen to look at learning new technologies. You must be security conscious ensuring compliance across the network and M365.

As our IT Support Technician, will be responsible for:

  • Manage workload via helpdesk tickets.
  • Provide first and second-line IT support.
  • Support Network Manager with computer and server maintenance/upgrades.
  • Maintain IT systems: daily backups, antivirus, and software updates.
  • Monitor/manage network infrastructure: switches, Wi-Fi, guest access.
  • Support data recovery and e-discovery, ensuring confidentiality.
  • Monitor security solutions and liaise with SOC.
  • Administer and support cloud solutions (e.g., M365)
  • Upgrade workstation components (e.g., hard disks, RAM).
  • Prepare reports and statistics for Network Manager/Director of IT.
  • Monitor/manage IT Assets and stock levels, liaise with suppliers.
  • Assist in operating/developing information and communication networks.
  • Set up and close down Town Hall and Board meetings.
  • Ensure a satisfactory, reliable, and secure IT environment.
  • Follow and assist in revising company policies.

  • AD, Windows 10, 11 & Exchange
  • Cloud technologies – Microsoft 365, Azure, Entra ID
  • VMWare/Hyper-V
  • Windows Server 2019, 2022
  • Intune
  • Imaging and laptop/PC builds
  • Cloud Backup Solutions
  • SQL Server
  • Networking -TCP/IP, Switches, DNS, DHCP, Security Appliances, Routers, VPN, VLAN
  • Hardware support and configuration

As a person:

  • Good Knowledge and understanding of Cyber & Information Security You are passionate about sharing your knowledge with the team and helping others grow.
  • You enjoy problem-solving and believe no challenge is too big.
  • You are a self-starter, eager to learn, and take ownership of your actions.
  • You have excellent interpersonal and communication skills ensure outstanding customer service.

Location: Chandler's Ford Industrial Estate, Eastleigh, Hampshire, SO53 4BY
Working hours: Monday – Friday, 38.5 hours per week
Salary: £28,000 - £33,000 per annum
