Location: Doncaster City Centre Working Hours: Monday to Friday Pay Rate: £11.75 per hour

About the Role: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Business Support Officer (Technical) to join the Learning & Opportunities: Children & Young People Directorate. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering comprehensive technical business support functions specific to their area of deployment, demonstrating knowledge of and regard to the relevant legislation and guidance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational support for the designated technical business support service
  • Providing high-quality business support in setting up and maintaining systems, processing documents, monitoring and maintenance of records
  • Maintaining accurate records both manually and electronically and producing data for statutory returns and/or statistical reports
  • Preparing legal paperwork on behalf of other officers
  • Using the Council’s IT systems to input data, word process letters, memoranda and reports, including work of a confidential nature
  • Dealing with enquiries from the public, officers of the authority and others, ensuring that these are dealt with and appropriate feedback is given
  • Undertaking research, collating findings and summarising information
  • Undertaking financial administration including ordering and processing of invoices using the Council’s financial system
  • Working as part of a unified service supporting the wider team and directorate as required

Skills and Experience:

  • Experience of operating administrative processes within a busy office environment
  • Customer service experience
  • Experience of working to tight and conflicting deadlines
  • Experience of working with computers, including with Microsoft Office and databases
  • Ability to undertake research, analyse and collate information
  • Good communication skills
  • Excellent understanding of data protection and security of information principles
